I'm Andrew. I've been building things on the internet since the early 2000s, when some of us were still using MS Paint to make Winamp 2 skins. These days I lead design for health and AI products.

I'm a scientist by training, which means I still read the research methods section before I believe anything. I was the founding designer at three health startups, co-founded one, and led design at Meta Reality Labs on health and AI for wearables. I also run Kandeo Studios, a small studio I started in 2005 for health startups and biotech.

Lately I've been tinkering and building AI tools end to end, for practical problems that are often less shiny. I try to touch grass here and there: globe‑trotting, restoring our Eichler home in the Bay Area, and growing more hydroponic lettuce than two people can eat.
